CSO Alliance workshop: Shanghai

March 3rd 2015
With its not insignificant maritime history, Shaghai has long been on CSO Alliance’s ‘to visit’ list. Its turn has finally come in our ongoing series of workshops.

On 3 March CSO Alliance will be holding a workshop at the Mandarin Oriental Pudong for CSOs and interested parties to attend.

In conjunction with Giles Noakes, Chief Maritime Security Officer for BIMCO and Captain William Nault, US Navy Chief of Staff for the Combined Maritime Forces in Bahrain, the workshops will cover current maritime security issues, best practice and counter-piracy in the Indian Ocean, Asia and West Africa.

The workshops will cover:

  • Insight from the hard-earned experiences of BIMCO 1,000 ship owner members.

  • A military brief with a detailed overview of the current situation of the counter-piracy mission off the Horn of Africa.

  • A demonstration from CSO Alliance of the platform* with over 100 CSOs responsible for the security of 5,000 ships, 10% of the world fleet, including Cruise, Super Yacht, Offshore platform and supply craft and fishing fleets.

  • Discussion and debate rooted in seafarer needs – lead by a PMSC team leader who has completed many transits and handled several pirate attacks.

The event is free to attend and we hope to meet many CSOs while we’re in the area. If you would like to come along please register using the link below.
