Alliance Workshop Held in Rotterdam

July 4th 2014
CSO Alliance was privileged to accept an invitation from the Dutch shipping flag to present in Rotterdam to the association and a regional CSO. The workshop which followed, again illustrated the need for dialogue between the huge range of often disparate parties which have to interact in order to successfully tackle organised maritime crime.

The workshop focussed on the importance of verifying attacks and incidents and defining them properly. The Alliance has a crack team of experts who work with our military liaison, NGO and open source partners to ensure the information our membership have access to is as accurate as possible and is presented in industry-standard terms.

Whilst the Alliance is not an intelligence provider, we believe in delivering the best knowledge to the greatest number of CSOs, a principle well received in Rotterdam.

The team also discussed the provision of data interrogation through the CSO Alliance platform. We tested the platform and discussed various scenarios which would serve not only CSOs in the immediate region but also new transits, prospective transits and future business opportunities, all of which the platform can help scope by manipulating the data sets.

The Alliance is constantly looking at new ways to manipulate the unique data which makes it so valuable to the membership.
