BIMCO, CMF and CSO Alliance : Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai Workshops

February 23rd 2015
Register now : Hong Kong 2 March and Shanghai 3 March.

An essential part of CSO Alliance delivery is to engage with CSOs in their own communities with free to attend workshops. Working with our trip sponsors, Port2Port, MarTrust, Askaris and GAC, this is possible.  We have organised a series of workshops to connect with CSOs and the Shipping Community in Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Following on from the success of Singapore, which bought together over 50 shipping professionals over two days, we look forward to meeting many more CSOs in Hong Kong and Shanghai in the coming days.

In conjunction with Giles Noakes, Chief Maritime Security Officer for BIMCO and Captain William Nault, US Navy Chief of Staff for the Combined Maritime Forces in Bahrain, the workshops will cover current maritime security issues, best practice and counter-piracy in the Indian Ocean, Asia and West Africa.

The workshops will cover:

  • Insight from the hard-earned experiences of BIMCOs 1,000 ship owner members.

  • A military brief with a detailed overview of the current situation of the counter-piracy mission off the Horn of Africa.

  • A demonstration from CSO Alliance of their platform, which has membership of over 100 CSOs responsible for the security of 5,000 ships, 10% of the world fleet, including Cruise, Super Yacht, Offshore platform and supply craft and fishing fleets.

  • Discussion and debate rooted in seafarer needs – lead by a PMSC team leader who has completed many transits and handled several pirate attacks.
