CSOA News

March 11th 2016
Since our last newsletter we’ve been kept busy hosting workshops in Athens, Limassol and London. Thank you to all of you who came along, it was lovely to see so many friendly faces. We really enjoyed hearing the issues that are at the forefront of your minds, and seeing the animated conversations that happen when CSOs are in the same room as each other. This is what keeps driving us to get out and meet you all.

Yesterday we released the EU NAVFOR-CMF-NATO “Industry Releasable Piracy Threat Assessment off Somalia” to members. This is a prime example of how coordination with the military can provide real benefits to the community. If you missed the assessment, click here to view it.

This month we’re also delighted to have handed over the reins of the “CMF Bahrain Project: Patter of Life” group to Lt. Rich Sawyer, Senior Watch Officer and Information Requirements Manager, CMF. The purpose of the group is to allow the rapid sharing and verification of imagery between Ships Captains, CSOs, Military and NGO crime reporting centres. We encourage members to view and contribute to the group. Click here to access it directly.
