The Vision

Organised Maritime criminals are exactly that: extremely well organised, led and resourced, as well as constantly innovating. They would love the maritime community to stay disorganised.

We are gathering together in one community all the Company Security Officers who are tasked with defending over 50,000 Merchant Marine assets  with over 1,200,000 crew from this criminal activity.

We collect data from all our CSOs whether it be a suspected sighting, a stowaway attempt or an opportunistic cargo crime, we track and log every criminal activity anywhere in the world and all the time we ask for useful learnings to share these hard-won lessons.

CSO Alliance is not an overnight quick fix, but our vision, our growing database of criminal activity and trends, combined with our improving online briefing routines will drive membership growth and industry support, all for a low fixed annual membership fee.

The Alliance was conceived by CSOs for CSOs, this is their platform and the tools they requested help them deliver on their tasks.

The delivery will improve with feedback and experience, our ambition is clear: that all CSOs, wherever they live and however large their fleet, will ensure their Captains and crew are all fully briefed on the risks they face, wherever they sail.

Ultimately these interactions will save CSOs time, their companies money, ensure better mutual assessment of risk and raise the stakes in the fight against organised crime.

CSO Alliance: Security Through Community.
